The Quarterback Club will host it's 18th Annual Golf Scramble at Summer Tree Golf Course on Saturday, August 8th. All golfers will be invited to attend the CP Football Red & White Scrimmage on Friday, August 7th. Shotgun start begins at 1:00 p.m. Contact Ray Hays for details.

| All student-athletes must have an updated physical completed by a physician between May 1, 2009 and August 3, 2009. Completed physicals must have parent and physician signatures. Physical forms can be turned-in to the Athletic Office. Completed physical forms must be on-file in the Athletic Office by August 3rd to participate in the Fall season. |

SUMMER WORKOUT DATES & TIMES

The Summer Workout / Camp schedule has been posted. Freshmen workouts will take place on Tuesday & Thursday at 6 a.m. Players will be released with ample time to make it to summer school. Varsity & JV players will be working out in the afternoons. Most of the afternoon workouts will begin at 4:00 p.m. Stay updated on practice schedule changes by using the calendar link on the practice schedules and camps page.

DOG POUND FUNDRAISER UNDERWAY

The annual Dog Pound Fundraiser is underway for players entering grades 9-12. The dollars raised through the fundraiser will be used to purchase a new set of game pants, recondition practice field equipment, update video technology, and design signs and posters for the new locker facility. Players will be able to use 30% of sponsor dollars to offset the cost of their practice pack or summer camp fees.

FROSH WORKOUTS BEGIN APRIL 27TH
|

Workouts for incoming Freshmen football players will begin with Coach Rodriguez and Coach Lorek on Monday, April 27th. Many 8th grade students are participating in the Middle School strength and conditioning program that started on January 26th. The Spring can be a busy time for incoming Freshmen with track, baseball, basketball, and wrestling all conducting practices. Contact Coach Rodriguez with any schedule conflicts. Players should enter through the Wellness Center at CPHS. Attendance will be taken once players are inside the weightroom. Rides will pick-up players in the Blue Lot, just west of the swimming pool at CPHS. The cost of the weightlifting program is part of the Summer Activity Fee (paid on July 13th as part of the practice pack).

DOGS HEADED TO ST. JOE FOR TEAM CAMP

The Varsity & JV team will travel to Rennselaer, Indiana to participate in a team camp at St. Joseph's College. The Dogs have gone to camp at Indiana University for the past four years. The team will not travel to Bloomington this year due to the days added at the end of the school year to accommodate weather cancellations. The Bulldogs will leave town on Sunday, June 21st and return on Wednesday, June 24th. The cost is $200. Players may apply 2009 fundraiser dollars towards St. Joe Team Camp. Fundraiser information will be available in March 2009.

TAFT EDGES COLONEL WHEELER IN 7TH GRADE SCRIMMAGE

7th grade squads from Taft and Colonel Wheeler scrimmaged under the lights at CPHS on Friday, May 29th. A big crowd watched Taft tally the only two scores of the night on a short touchdown run by Brendan McKinnon and a halfback-option pass by Vince Shaneborn. Both teams will resume practice in the middle of August. Contact the following coaches for more information

BALL STATE CAMP RETURNS TO CP
|

The Ball State Football Coaching Staff is returning to CPHS on Sunday, June 14th to run a 1-Day Camp for high school players throughout the Chicagoland area. Stan Parrish and the Ball State staff will be assisted by numerous small college coaches from throughout the Midwest for a day of instruction and exposure for junior and senior athletes. The cost of the camp is $40.00. Registration must be done directly through Ball State. Parent signatures must be present on application forms. Players may register on the day of camp, but must have a parent present to provide a signature. Contact Coach Pettit with any questions.

LAMERE NAMED TO NORTH ALL-STAR TEAM

Lance LaMere has been named to the IFCA North All-Star Team. The team was selected on March 9th. Lance will play inside linebacker in the annual game vs. the South All-Stars on July 17th. Congratulations Lance!

EQUIPMENT ISSUE DATES AND TIMES

Equipment will be issued to Freshmen football players on Monday, July 13th at 2:30 p.m. in the locker room south of the football stadium. Freshmen will then stay for the 1st day of Team Camp (5:00 - 8:00 p.m.). Players should pay for practice packs at this time. Fundraiser incentives may be used to offset the cost of the practice pack. Items distributed in the practice pack are outlined in the link below. Contact Coach Hartman with any questions.

Jon Cooke (OL) will continue his football career at Carthage College (NCAA - Division III). The Redmen have been landing Bulldog standouts throughout the last decade. CPHS has had a number of graduates play at Carthage for Head Coach, Tim Rucks. They include: Steve Etter (2002), Aaron Miller (2003), Donny Keiser (2005), and Mike Damjanovic (2006).

COLONNA COMMITS TO ROSE-HULMAN

Offensive Lineman, Nick Colonna will continue his football career at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (NCAA - Division III). Nick was a captain and two-year starter for the Bulldogs. He earned All-DAC recognition in 2008. The Fighting Engineers are coached by Steve Englehart.

| Lance LaMere (linebacker) will continue his football career at the University of St. Francis (NAIA - Division I) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lance was a captain and three-year starter for the Bulldogs. He earned team MVP and All-DAC recognition in 2008. Lance set the CPHS single-season record for tackles this past year. The Cougars are coached by Kevin Donley. |
