CHRIS SHIMLEY (DL) COMMITS TO WABASH COLLEGE

 

Chris Shimley (DL) commits to Wabash College (Crawfordsville, IN).

 

Crown Point High School is pleased to announce that Chris Shimley will continue his football career at Wabash College (NCAA - Division III).  Shimley was a captain for the Bulldogs in 2009.  The Little Giants are coached by Erik Raeburn.  Chris is the second player from Crown Point (Zach Breuckman) to sign with Wabash this winter.

 

ZACH BREUCKMAN (OL/DL) COMMITS TO WABASH COLLEGE

Crown Point High School is pleased to announce that Zach Breuckman will continue his football career at Wabash College (NCAA - Division III), in Crawfordsville.  The Little Giants are coached by Erik Raeburn.

ERNEST WIDE RECEIVER AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY

The 6-foot-2, 188-pounder, wide receiver for the IU football team, has totaled 10 receptions and 87 yards over two seasons. He played in all 12 games for the Hoosiers in 2009, and recorded a touchdown catch against Ohio State.

FORNEY SET FOR A BIG YEAR AT UNIVERSITY OF INDIANAPOLIS

Ryan Forney (Class of 2007) is preparing for his third season at the University of Indianapolis. Ryan will begin his junior season as a slot receiver and kick returner for the Greyhounds. 2008: Played in all 11 games…averaged over 10 yards per catch while amassing 127 yards receiving…also tied for second on the team with 10 kickoff returns, averaging 18.1 yards per attempt…set season highs with five catches and 40 receiving yards at Wayne State (9/13)…caught a 23-yard pass versus Hillsdale to move the Hounds into Charger territory (9/20)…racked up 102 return yards, including a season-long 35-yard kickoff return against Ashland (11/1).
 In 2008, Ryan had 12 receptions for 127 yards.

PARKS BECOMES FEATURE BACK FOR UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO

Tommy Parks (Class of 2007) returns for his Junior season at the University of Chicago as the leading rusher for the Maroons. 

In 2008: UAA All-Academic Recognition Award recipient ... Suffered a season-ending injury in week two ... Rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 6.2 yards per carry ... Gained a career-high 153 yards against Kenyon.

BLUE FINISHES SOPHOMORE YEAR AT
ST. JOE WITH SUCCESS

Cody Blue (Class of 2008 finished his second season of football at St. Josephs College, Rensselaer, IN.

Cody started at right guard for the Pumas who went 5-6 overall and 4-0 in the Great Lake Football Conference winning 2009 Conference Title.  The Pumas have won the GLFC 3 out of the last 5 years.  Cody was named 1st Team All-Conference offensive line.  Great job Cody.

CECICH TO SAGINAW VALLEY STATE

Zach Cecich has decided to continue playing college football at Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, Michigan.  Zach is the only tight end in the Cardinals recruiting class.  The Saginaw coaching staff projects Zach to play some tight end and receiver in the future.

CHICK TO MARIAN

Russell Chick has decided to continue his football career at Marian College in Indianapolis.  Marian finished their 1st season of Varsity football in 2007 with a record of:  1-9.  The Knights played with a roster comprised of Freshman and Sophomores.  Marian travels to Valparaiso University to play the Crusaders on September 20th. HULEN TO BENEDICTINE

Jason Hulen has decided to continue his football career at Benedictine University. Jason will play the Offensive Line for the Eagles in 2008. Benedictine (Lisle, IL) is coached by Jon Cooper. The Eagles are coming-off a 5-5 season in 2007.

COOKE TO CARTHAGE

Jon Cooke (OL) will continue his football career at Carthage College (NCAA - Division III).  The Redmen have been landing Bulldog standouts throughout the last decade.  CPHS has had a number of graduates play at Carthage for Head Coach, Tim Rucks.  They include:  Steve Etter (2002), Aaron Miller (2003), Donny Keiser (2005), and Mike Damjanovic (2006). 

2009: Appeared in two varsity games.

LAMERE HEADED TO ST. FRANCIS

Lance LaMere (linebacker) will continue his football career at the University of St. Francis (NAIA - Division I) in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Lance was a captain and three-year starter for the Bulldogs.  He earned team MVP and All-DAC recognition in 2008.  Lance set the CPHS single-season record for tackles this past year.  The Cougars are coached by Kevin Donley.
