Varsity Update - The Bulldogs moved to 2-0 on the season with a 48-14 victory over Hobart in Week 2 of the 2010 season.  Jake Lindeman (2), Cody Bacon (2), Austin Atherton, Joe Hopman, and Pete Parks did the scoring for the Bulldogs.  Brett Bayer converted on 6/7 extra points.  The defense was solid against the Brickies.  JT Rotroff and Scott Hannon led an inspired effort.  Atherton nabbed an interception from his cornerback spot to account for the game's only turnover.
 
 
JV Update - The JV squad rolled to an impressive 37-0 victory over Hobart on Saturday, August 28th.  Highlights in the game included offensive lineman, Luke Lambert, scoring a touchdown for the Bulldogs and Braxton Rice throwing a touchdown pass to Daniel Stewart on a trick play.  Sean Jones and Austin Stanley led the Dogs defense. 

 
 
Freshman Update-Lowell  

The Bulldog Freshman Team opened their season with a 34-0 win over Lowell.  The 9th grade Dogs took a 7-0 lead into halftime and then exploded for 27 2nd half points.  Jake Jatis threw 2 touchdown passes, one to Nick Faso and the other to Tristan Peterson.  Jon Wigmore and Peterson (2) accounted for the other Bulldog touchdowns.  Pierce Jones, Vince Schoenborn, Brendyn McKinnon, and Ryan Kelleher all turned-in solid defensive performances.

Crown Point Varsity Games on Internet Radio

Internet Radio USA-365 begins 7th year of CP Football audio streaming CROWN POINT, IN (8-17-2010) – Meyer Multimedia Services, a division of Meyer Broadcasting Corporation, unveiled its Fall 2010 Internet audio broadcasting schedule for web site www.USA-365.com of nine regular season Crown Point High School football games.

USA-365.com begins its seventh year of Internet audio streaming of Crown Point High School football games and ninth year of story and photo coverage Crown Point, Lowell and other Northwest Indiana High School sports. USA-365.com will broadcast nine Friday night regular season high school games beginning with Lowell at Crown Point August 20 at 6:45 p.m., CDT.

Veteran broadcasters Mark Smith and Dave Woodworth anchor the CPHS live play-by-play coverage, with assistance from technology specialist Jim Goodall.  The web site www.USA-365.com has been posting high school sports stories the past nine years covering primarily the high schools in South Lake County, including Crown Point, Lowell, Hanover Central, Boone Grove, Merrillville and Andrean. 

In addition to live Internet audio streaming, USA-365.com posts podcasts (mp3 audio file downloads) of all Crown Point live Internet Radio sportscasts.  

Practice Schedules

We will have practice every day after school (2:50 specialists & 3:00 stretch).  Players that drive to school will leave their vehicles in the CPHS main parking lot and walk through the stadium to the Bulldog Center.  Varsity / JV players need to plan on practicing on Labor Day (Monday, September 6th) from 3:00-6:00 p.m.  The Freshman team will not practice on Labor Day.

Players driving to school for Friday night home games should park in the main CPHS parking lots and walk through the stadium to the Bulldog Center.  This is due to using the Bulldog Center lot for reserved parking.

Injuries / Training Staff

 Players that sustain an injury / are rehabilitating an injury should stay in touch with CPHS Athletic Trainer, Trent Trump.  Keep Trent posted on your progress and doctor's visits.  All players that are unable to practice / play due to doctor's orders will require a note from the doctor clearing the player for a return to play.

Please send an email to Coach Pettit from the address that you would like to receive updates. Identify yourself with your first and last name. Parents should also include the first and last name of their son.
